This post was unexpected and really moving. It’s a relief hearing that other people also struggle with surface level conversations and to be reminded that it’s entirely possible to have deeper meaningful connections and conversations with strangers. Thank you for sharing. I love your Substack and thoughtful insights about style and communication.

I loved reading this over my Sunday morning coffee. Deep conversations have always been my love language and has been one of my favorite parts of traveling, as well. 🤍 thank you

I love this! So lovely to have those interactions. I adore working in a small boutique for that reason-getting to talk to other women. But what I really adore in your writing is the feeling in your style. What you want to feel like. I just love it. I’m working on my closet and thinking about this a lot lately. Thank you for sharing this.

So well said!

And isn’t it funny that oftentimes these poignant conversations happen when you least want/ expect them to occur? It’s what makes life magic.

A good reminder for all x

Amy, this piece took my breath away - really truly. Not on an unsettling way at all. In a great ‘exhale’ kind of a way. Make sense?

Wow! Life! The conversation! The ability to transform words into action with your true self at the center. Feeling secure, not dressed up in someone else's idea of who you should be, this is truly exciting! Being authentic and grounded in your own sense of self is key. How do we ensure that our actions and choices, whether in life or in fashion, are genuinely reflective of who we are at our core? Thank you!

Fleeting moments and connections with strangers. The honesty you always share (not to mention the humour) has allowed from afar to start to find myself again through what I wear. Thinking about how I feel and perceive myself. I think so many of us lose how we feel and portray ourselves at some point in our lives. This story resonates: it’s the little things in life that makes the big things.

What a profound encounter! It’s fascinating how fashion, often seen as superficial, can deeply connect identity and self-expression. Your philosophy of aligning who we are inside with how we present ourselves clearly resonated with her. I completely agree – it’s not just about clothes, it’s about knowing who you are. When you express that through your style, it becomes a powerful statement. Thank you so much for sharing this story. I’m really looking forward to meeting you in Melbourne soon!
